This Old Doll's
Sunny Sam

Sam and Sue are from 1939. They're called "Flexies" because their arms and legs are wire mesh that can be bent into an endless number of positions. These are the only two I've seen "in person", childhood toys of Ester Cenac. I was so honored that she trusted me to restore them for her. Their heads and hands are composition and their bodies and feet are wood. These are his original clothes, a typical ragamuffin. Aren't he and Sue cute together?
